Your account

Delete your account

You can do it yourself, inside the app, in under a minute. It is immediate, and it does not cost you anything you have paid for.

Deleting your account never deletes your purchase. Full access is recorded against the App Store transaction, not against your account, so it survives deletion and comes back whenever you want it. The section below explains exactly how.

First: do you have an account?

The app works completely without one. Nothing in it needs a sign-in: the questions, the quizzes, the flashcards, the worksheets and your child's progress all behave exactly the same whether you have signed in or not.

Signing in does one job: it lets something you have bought follow you onto another platform later. If you have never tapped Continue with Apple or Continue with Google, there is no account, and nothing here applies to you. Deleting the app removes everything it has stored on the device.

The fast route

Delete it inside the app

Four taps, no waiting, and nobody has to read your email. It sits behind the parent area because it is not a decision a ten year old should be able to make on their own.

  1. Open 11 Plus Blocks and scroll to the bottom of the Home screen.
  2. Tap the gear to open Settings.
  3. Open Parents/Guardians Area. If you have set a parent PIN, it asks for it here.
  4. Under Account, tap Delete account, read the confirmation, and confirm.

It happens there and then. There is no queue, no cooling-off period and no email to wait for.

No Delete account button? Then you are not signed in on that device, and there is no account to delete. If it refuses, the app will say why: sign out, sign back in, and try once more, which clears the usual cause.

What is deleted, and what is not

Very little of the app is ours to delete, because very little of it ever reaches us.

Removed

What deletion takes away

  • Your sign-in: the email address, the name if the sign-in provided one, and the account identifier created for you. Accounts are held for us by Firebase Authentication, and this removes the record there.
  • The link between that account and anything you have bought, which is the only thing the account was ever for.

Kept

What it does not touch

  • Your child's progress. Blocks, streaks, achievements and every topic answered live on the device and in your own iCloud. We have never been able to see any of it, so there is nothing there for us to delete.
  • What you paid for. It belongs to the Apple ID that bought it. See below.
  • Your App Store account. Your receipt, your payment method and your purchase history are Apple's, and we never see them.

The bit everyone worries about

What happens to what you paid for

Nothing happens to it. That is a decision taken when the app was built, not a promise we are hoping to keep.

Full access is recorded against the App Store transaction. Your account only ever pointed at it, which means deleting the account removes a pointer and leaves the purchase where it was. In practice:

  • On the iPhone or iPad you bought on, nothing changes. The app asks the App Store, not us, and it does not need an account to do it. It stays unlocked while signed out, and it stays unlocked after deletion.
  • On a new device, restore it. Sign in to the same Apple ID, open the app, and tap Restore purchases. Apple confirms the purchase and full access comes back.
  • Sign in again whenever you like. That creates a new account, and the purchase re-attaches itself the next time you open the app on the device that holds the receipt.

The one thing deletion does cost you is the link that would carry the purchase across to another platform, and opening the app once while signed in puts that back.

Deleting your account does not cancel or refund anything. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple, and refunds go through Apple's own refund process. How pricing works explains the rest.

If you cannot get into the app

Ask us to delete it

Lost the device, deleted the app already, or the button will not work: write to us and we will do it by hand.

privacy@11plusblocks.co.uk

Please tell us:

  • the email address you signed in with, writing from it if you still can;
  • whether you used Apple or Google to sign in;
  • whether you used Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, in which case the address we hold is Apple's relay rather than your real one.

We will confirm the address is yours before deleting anything. Otherwise anybody could type a stranger's address into a form and have their account removed, which is exactly what the old version of this page allowed.

These are done by hand, usually within a few working days, and always inside the one month that UK data protection law allows. You will get a note back when it is done.

Removing the practice data too

Deleting the account does not touch your child's progress, because it was never ours. Removing it is two steps, both on your own device.

The copy on the device

Delete the app in the usual way and it goes with it: progress, settings, reminders, everything it had stored.

The copy in your iCloud

That copy sits in your own Apple storage, not ours. Remove it in iOS Settings, under your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage.

The privacy policy sets out everything the app stores and what we can and cannot see. Anything else, including a request for a copy of what we hold, goes to privacy@11plusblocks.co.uk, or use the contact form.

Questions about deleting

Will I lose what I paid for?

No. Full access is recorded against the App Store transaction rather than against your account, so it survives deletion. On the device you bought on nothing changes at all, and on any other device signed in to the same Apple ID you can restore it.

Can I sign in again afterwards?

Yes, whenever you like. It creates a new account, and the purchase re-attaches to it the next time you open the app on the device that holds the receipt. Nothing about deletion is permanent except the old sign-in itself.

Does it delete my child’s progress?

No, and we could not delete it if we wanted to. Progress is stored on the device and in your own iCloud, and we have no access to either. Deleting the app removes the copy on the device, and the iCloud copy is removed through your own iCloud settings.

How long does it take?

Inside the app it is immediate. By email it is done by hand, usually within a few working days, and always inside the one month UK data protection law allows.

I have never signed in. Is there anything to delete?

No. Without a sign-in we hold nothing about you at all: no account, no email address, and no record of what your child has practised. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device.
